I purchased this guitar from a pawn shop in Van Nuys, CA for $205. The guitar and case were in mint condition and as an added bonus the hang tags, wrenches and keys were still inside the case. The original neck however, had been replaced with a Strat headstock shaped one, that to my surprise had the same profile as the necks on my Charvels. I really liked the look of the all black hardware against the white body. The guitar looked great, played and sounded awesome and for that price I figured I had nothing to lose. This guitar surprisingly enough, became one of my favorites but once again I got tired of the white finish. A trip to the auto store and $7 later I returned with masking tape and a can of black spray paint, proceeding to paint stripe patterns reminiscent of EVH's black and yellow Charvel which was a disaster. You probably see a pattern developing with here, I buy a guitar, try and add a cool paint job, which I totally mess up and then have to send the guitars to GMW for professional attention. You think I would learn just to go directly to GMW for my refinishing needs! I had Lee (GMW) strip the body to rid it of the mess I made and I told Dan that I liked the Joker graphic (with a matching painted pickup cover) which I thought would look cool on this guitar. Both Lee and Dan suggested that a matching painted head would really enhance the graphic. While I agreed, I was torn between having the headstock painted a solid green color and having the headstock painted with a matching graphic. Dan joked and said that he would surprise me with something cool. I saw the finished product only when the guitar was shipped back to me and loved what Dan had done. Dan had continued with the bull's-eye graphic motif on the headstock and added the Joker playing card. An old school Kramer logo topped her off and she looked brand spanking new.
